About Alrewas Village Hall

The following is taken from archival documents of the Oddfellows Organisation. The Oddfellows were the original builders of the hall.

"Saturday, December 16th (1911) was a red-letter day in the history of the Earl of Lichfield Lodge at Alrewas for it saw the inauguration by the Grand Master of the Manchester Unity of their cherished enterprise – AN ODDFELLOWS HALL.

The building consists of commodious hall of simple design capable of seating 300 to 400 people, while at the rear are rooms for committees etc and an excellent kitchen. Upstairs a spacious Lodge-room and other accommodation is provided and the whole structure is admirably adapted for its purpose. There was a large attendance at the opening ceremony, including many visiting brethren, who subsequently sat down to dinner in the Hall with the Earl of Lichfield in the Chair etc etc etc…"
