The Flea Pit - 'Beyond The Pole' Saturday January 30th

We were very proud and very fortunate to be able to show this film. Some of it was shot in the home of our very own Tony Jones and many villagers were film extras. We were especially delighted to have a visit from the Director, David Williams and his wife Helen Baxendale who had a role in an produced the film. They answered questions from the audience and received a valuable 'Alrewas Oscar' for 'Best Use Of Local Extras'

We ran two showings of the film and both houses were sold out within days of the tickets going on sale, we even had a reserve list of over 30 people.

This picture shows a couple of young cinema goers with Helen.

MEXICAN CEILIDH - Saturday December 5th 2009

The evening started with an hilarious Spanish/English health and safety message swiftly followed by the grand making of the Mexican hat. A few sheets of newspaper and a roll of masking tape saw dozens of brilliant hats. The next task was to make a pair of maraccas. These were used to accopmany the first of 'The Hoover's' Mexican number, 'La Bamba'. It wasa great evening with tequila sunrises and excellent chilli con carne. Thanks go to everyone who helped and especially to Joanna Stevenson who put so much work into the event.

Hey amigos!

The Mosses would just like to congratulate you all on a superb night out at la hacienda village hall on Saturday. To the band, to the bar, to the cook[s] to the bar staff et al, very well done. The great fun that was had by all must, surely, show how vibrant Alrewas Arts Fest. is and is going to be next year.

The youngsters who were there had me in stiches and everybody did at least one dance and even invented one when dancing on hats. What a good, breaking the tension opening "surprise" Jo, with the newspaper hats. Well done! We were sat next to people we had never met before but were all laughing and chatting as if there was no tomorrow. That was the magic of the evening.

Thanks again.

THE FLEA PIT - Saturday november 29th - 'Coco Before Chanel'

THE FOURTH ANNUAL FILM FESTIVAL

Saturday November 21st 2009 -A visual and aural treat to lift the spirits!

A great success with some brilliant films on display.

ALREWAS SHOW July 18th 2009
The Festival had a stand at this years Show. We were there with the sheep (of course), the ever popular DVD's and clipboards. Why clipboards?! As we start to plan for Festival 2010, in order to secure grant funding, we need to provide evidence of what effect the last Festival had within the community as a whole. We need your views.
We were also doing some Willow work - encouraging youngsters to get involved. I hope you like the results!

OPEN GARDENS July 2009
The sun shone for this years Open Gardens in Alrewas and hundreds of people enjoyed the many gardens open to the public.
The festival garden hosted by the Reilly family  welcomed the festival sheep, sold copies of the Festival Film, 'A Cut Through Alrewas' and many children and some adults helped to create a lovely Willow Hideaway.
