December 1st - We made it!

Dec 1, 2020

Well, happy December everyone, from all at Alrewas Arts Festival!

Our very own Sue Williams has curated a Quiz that you can join on December 19th.

 Alrewas Arts Festival Christmas Quiz.

Grab some festive cheer, shake up the old grey cells and join us on Zoom for a Christmas Quiz on Saturday, December 19 at 7.30pm.

If you are alone or a couple and want to form a team with friends, contact them on a separate device (from the one you will use to Zoom) if you wish.

The event is a fundraiser for the next Arts Festival and will be hosted by excellent Quiz Master Dave Ward, who has very kindly volunteered his services.

£5 per team.  For payment details, please email Sue Williams on: teaandoranges50@yahoo.co.uk.  The deadline for registering is Dec 18th.

Dave will email you on the night with the Zoom ID and password for joining the party. And don't forget your team name!

What to look out for in the village this month.

There are in fact a number of village projects going on this month - great! Here are some of them.

·      Live streaming of church services and a very lovely nativity scene at the Church door. Great!

·      Christmas lights trail. Wonderful!

·      Memory Tree. Lovely!

·      The ‘Drop -in’ groups lunch. Yummy!

·      The Epic Elf Fundraising Frolics. This week! (more below)

Festival-wise, Sally has organised some lovely installations.  Look out for these!

·      The Camels in the churchyard are being adorned in their Christmas coats and they’ll be joined by some very wise people.   There’ll be a fabulous ….surprise in the churchyard in place of the model church.

·      And…see if you can spot all 12 Days of Christmas around the village!

Lots and lots of people working to make Christmas in Alrewas a very special time for us all. Thank you!!!

♬♫ ‘What’s it all about….Elffie?!’♫♬

Tomorrow is the day!   There will be epic ‘Dunking’ of elves, involving pools, the river and who knows what else! There may even be a Santa appearance.  If you’re walking somewhere in the region of the quarter mile bridge mid-morning, you may spot some ‘goings on’!

There will be a lovely Elf Trail going live from later in the afternoon. “The Alrewas Elves have got to help Santa come up with some new jokes for his crackers. The ‘senior’ Elves would really like families in the village to help them out by visiting Elf HQ at the Bank to get an Elf Trail to follow (these will be available for £1 from Thursday 3rd until Saturday 5th) they will also be available from Mr Christoforou’s Elves, Mr Coates’ Elves and the Arts Festival website if you can’t get to the HQ.”

The Elf making completion will be announced and ‘Elf in Chief’ outfit will be displayed at the Bank Coffeehouse.

I’m exhausted just thinking about it!!

The Alrewas Elves would like you to help them out so they can help the Alzheimer’s Society with their work on Elf Day:
